You can perform some actions on Inspect from a Command Prompt window's command line. These can help resolve certain lock up or error conditions in Inspect, like if your Settings.xml file is corrupt, and you cannot use Inspect at all.
Available Switches
The switches need to follow the Inspect.exe command in a statement at a command prompt or in a batch file (.bat). These are the switches you can use:
/? or -? - Either switch shows help content for available switches and syntax directly in the Command Prompt window.
/resetaddons or -resetaddons - Either switch deletes all add-ons (adapters) along with the settings file. Specifically, Inspect removes the following items:
All folders from the C:\ProgramData\Inspect\5.0 folder.
The Settings.xml file from the C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Hexagon\Inspect folder, where <user> is your Windows user name.
