Prerequisites:
Starting the Application
As an administrator, you can configure Inspect to work with measurement routines that are local to this computer. To do that, follow this procedure:
Run Inspect as an administrator.
From the left sidebar, click Add-ons to access the Add-ons screen.
From the Add-ons screen, choose one or more application add-ons for the measurement packages that you want to use. These application add-ons can be PC-DMIS or QUINDOS. (An Application Simulator add-on is also available for test and demo purposes.)
From the Add-ons screen, ensure that the Folder Explorer add-on is installed.
If you plan to use image detection with a uEye camera to detect your parts, install the EYE-D add-on.
From the left sidebar, click Settings.
If you plan to use PC-DMIS, from the Settings screen, under PC-DMIS, enable the version or versions of PC-DMIS that you want to use with Inspect.
Also from the Settings screen, under Folder Explorer, under Calibration Access, define who can calibrate probes: Administrator Only or Standard User.
When you enable a version of PC-DMIS from the PC-DMIS area of the Settings screen, Inspect creates the default folder location under Folder Explorer. However, you may have custom local folders with measurement routines in them that you want Inspect to be able to access. To define those:
Look for a line that matches your measurement application add-on (for example, for the most-recent PC-DMIS version, this is + PC-DMIS 2020 R2).
Under that line, click Create New User Folder.
In Label, you can give the folder a nick name.
In Path, define the folder that holds your measurement routine files (for PC-DMIS, these are *.prg files).
In Extensions, define the file extension for routines used by your measurement package. For PC-DMIS, this is *.prg.
Then click the check mark to accept your new folder.
Once you've installed your add-ons and defined your measurement software's settings, you can use Inspect to execute your measurement routines with your measurement software.
