Logging Events in Inspect

When you troubleshoot issues or when you work with Hexagon Technical Support to resolve an issue, it's often helpful to generate a log file of events as you duplicate a problem.

To record a log of events in the Inspect.log file, follow these steps:

  1. Access the Settings screen.

  2. Under the General section, locate the Logging Level setting. By default, this setting is set to Off.

  3. Select the desired logging level. (For information on what the logging levels are, see "The Settings Screen".)

  4. Once you enable a logging level, Inspect stores logged events in the Inspect.log file as those events occur.

Inspect stores the Inspect.log file in this folder:

C:\ProgramData\Hexagon\Inspect

You can view the log file in a standard text editor, such as Notepad.
