Use the Graphical Hit Selection method to select feature and scan hits as inputs when you create a dimension.
Dimension types where points are not valid inputs will not display feature or scan hits.
To select feature or scan hits with the Graphical Hit Selection method:
Create the feature or scan hits.
Click the dimension type (for example, the Distance option) from the Dimension toolbar (View | Toolbars | Dimension) or from the menu (Insert | Dimension). PC-DMIS displays the dimension's dialog box.

Dimension types where points are not valid inputs will not display Feature or Scan Hits.
Select the items to use as inputs from the Feature List in the dialog box, or select them from the Graphic Display window. For details, see "Graphical Hit Selection Method".
After you select all the items, click Create. The software displays the new dimension in the measurement routine.
