Active probe changer

The Active probe changer list contains numbered items (Probe Changer 1, Probe Changer 2, Probe Changer 3, and other items) to which you can assign a probe changer and its values. The number of items that appears in the list depends on the value in the Number of probe changers box. Initially, PC-DMIS usually displays only Probe Changer 1. To add additional items to the list, increase the value in the Number of probe changers box.

PC-DMIS stores the probe changer type that you selected in the Probe changer type list, plus any other values, for the numbered item in the Active probe changer list.

Number of probe changers

Type the number of different types of probe changers in the Number of probe changers box. The number that you enter becomes the number of available probe changers in the Active probe changer list.

Probe changer type

The Probe changer type list contains the various probe changer types. For example:

To select a probe changer:

  1. Select the probe changer in the Probe changer type list.

  2. Click Apply to make this probe changer active and load settings that apply to this probe changer.

Docking speed

You can change the docking speed to fine-tune the operation of the probe change cycle. To set the docking speed, type a new percentage value in the Docking speed box. The default value of 5% is appropriate for most machine configurations.

The docking speed may not be available for some types of probe changers. The controller manages the probe change cycle when the Docking speed option is not available. For example, the controller manages the probe change cycle for the LSPX1, LSPX5, and other LSPX probe types. For these probe types, the controller controls the slow docking speed, and you cannot change it.
