Selecting Edit | Markings | Parent Mode marks the parent command (if this menu option has a check mark and the related command is marked in the Edit window). A ‘parent’ is a command (or information from a command) used in another command. For example, if you mark a dimension and select this option, the feature used in the dimension will also be marked.
If you unmark a marked child command, the parent command stays marked.
