This registry entry determines whether or not the scanned points are also added to an existing pointcloud (COP) command. If you set this registry entry to TRUE (1), the scanned points are added to the COP that you specify for the ScanDialogUseCOPVal registry entry. If the COP command doesn't yet exist, PC-DMIS asks if it should generate it for you.
