This registry entry determines the tool naming convention for your I++ Server.

Entry Type: Whole number that specifies the naming type. The default value is 0.

Tool naming is allowed in the "PROBE.TIP" format. For example: PH9.T1A90B0

Tool naming is allowed in the "NICKNAME" format. In this case, each tip defined in the I++ server needs to have a nickname associated with it. You can enter a nickname in the Nickname box in the Edit Probe Data dialog box (Insert | Hardware Definition | Probe | Edit button).

Tool naming is allowed in the "PROBETIP" format. This mode is similar to mode 0, but the tool naming does not contains the dot character (".") For example: PH9T1A90B0
