Graphical Hit Selection Method

The Graphical Hit Selection method allows you to select existing feature or scan hits in the Graphic Display window, and then use them as inputs for Alignments, Constructions, and Dimensions.

This provides an alternate way to select inputs for those types of commands.

Once you have created the feature or scan hits:

  1. Open the relevant dialog box to create your Alignment, Construction, or Dimension.

  2. Select the feature or features from the Graphic Display window or from the Feature List. When you select the items from the Feature List, the software highlights them in the Graphic Display window.

After you select the feature or scan, the cursor changes to show the hits you can select.

Once you select the item from the Graphic Display window, the software adds it to the Feature List of the opened dialog box.

  1. Click Create on the dialog box to add the command to the Edit window's measurement routine.

Notes on hit properties:

Hits are drawn in black.

You can define or view the hit selection color from the Colors tab on the CAD & Graphics Setup dialog box (Edit | Graphic Display Window | Screen Color).

You can define or view how hits are drawn in the Graphic Display window from the Point Symbols section of the Symbols tab on the CAD & Graphics Setup dialog box (Edit | Graphic Display Window | Display Symbols).
