This interface communicates via TCP to a CMM-OS Server that Zeiss provides and installs. The CMM-OS Server manages all probe calibration, angle rotation, and probe changer functions.
The basic configuration involves setting the correct IP address for the server. When you have established communication, you must tell PC-DMIS the probes that are available for use. You do this by creating probes with the same names as those in the CMM-OS Server configuration. Once you create the probes, PC-DMIS updates the probe definitions with the values it gets from the server. The CMM-OS Server performs the tip calibrations. PC-DMIS should define the tip angles so they are available for your measurement routines.
If a probe changer is installed, the UseToolChanger must be set to True. You should also configure the proper probe changer in PC-DMIS. You do not need to configure the slot assignments since it is the CMM-OS Server’s responsibility to load the active probe.
If there are noticeable pauses when you use the jog box to move the CMM, set ConfigSelectionStrategy = 1.
