When PC-DMIS performs a DCC dual-arm calibration on a sphere, the secondary arm (arm 2) stays in a DCC state whenever the primary arm (arm 1) measures the sphere. This also occurs with the primary arm when the secondary arm measures the sphere. In Leitz protocol machines, this is not important, because controllers do not have a DCC state, and when they are idle, you can move them manually. However, for some third-party machines, such as a Zeiss system, when in a DCC state, you cannot move the CMM manually.
If you set this registry entry to 1, the secondary arm (arm 2) remains in manual mode so that you can manually move it to a new location (for example, to retract the probe to a safe position).
