Using the Q-DAS Data Editor Window

The Q-DAS Data Editor lets you modify the K-field data in the Q-DAS data file (QdasData.xml) through PC-DMIS.

The View | Other Windows | Q-DAS Data Editor menu option displays the Q-DAS Data Editor window.

This window functions the same as other dockable and scrollable windows. It displays scroll bars if the content within the window exceeds the window's size. Additionally, you can dock and undock this window at the bottom or top of the Graphic Display window when you double-click the window's title bar. You can also drag the window and then release it at the desired location. For details on docking and undocking user interface elements, see "Docking and Undocking User Interface Elements".

Prerequisites

To modify the K-field data of the dimension in the Q-DAS Data Editor, you need to do the following:

<name of measurement routine>.QdasData.xml

<name of measurement routine> represents the name of the PC-DMIS measurement routine.

For information on how to create a Q-DAS data file, see "Creating the Q-DAS Data File" in the Q-DAS Configurator help file.

"The cursor is not placed on a dimension command."

When you place the cursor on a dimension command in Edit window and if no Q-DAS data file is available for the measurement routine, Q-DAS Data Editor displays this message:

"No QdasData.xml file exists for the measurement routine. Use Q-DAS Configurator to create a QdasData.xml file."

When you save the measurement routine, the changes you made in the Q-DAS Data Editor are also saved.

Suppose that you have the following position dimension DIM1 command in your measurement routine:
