About the Blade Section Command

In general, scanning probes are used to measure blades. However, a requirement may exist to use scanners to measure blades. The Blade Section command fulfills this requirement because it uses any type of scanner device to construct a blade section by cutting the pointcloud (COP) that was collected or the Mesh that was created. This command enables you to measure multiple blade sections and perform a blade analysis.

Requirements

The Blade Section command requires a Nominal file as described in PC-DMIS Blade Analysis. You can use the Blade Nominals Editor command (Operation | Modules | Blade Nominals Editor) to generate the file. The Blade Section command needs to read the Nominal file for the blade (BladeName.nom).

For more information on the Nominal file and how to prepare it, refer to the documentation for PC-DMIS Blade Analysis.
