If you must use the software remotely on a computer with no connection to the network and the Local License Server, you can "borrow" licenses from the Local License Server and "return" them after usage. This process is called "borrowing". The availability of borrowing depends on the software product that you are installing.
You can borrow and return licenses through the View licenses dialog box within the software package (refer to the "Managing Floating Licenses on Local Clients" chapter).
To view the licenses for the software package:
Click the View licenses link to display the View licenses dialog box from within the software package (refer to the "Managing Floating Licenses on Local Clients" chapter).
The View Licenses dialog box shows the Entitlement ID and all currently-activated options of the software package.
Borrow Licenses
To borrow licenses:
Type the end date that you want the licenses to expire.
Click the Borrow licenses link.
The licenses are now borrowed, and the View licenses dialog box is updated with the latest status.
Return Borrowed Licenses
To return borrowed licenses:
Select the license that you want to return.
Click the Return borrowed licenses link.
The licenses are now returned, and the View licenses dialog box is updated with the latest status.
