Interface DLL - romer.dll

PCDLRN.INI Section header title - [Romer_Interface]

  1. Install PC-DMIS.

  2. Download the correct version of WinRDS for your version of PC-DMIS:

Only PC-DMIS version 3.7 and above support USB arms.

  1. For PC-DMIS 3.5 MR2 or an earlier version, copy this file from this site:

https://files.ms.hexagonmi.com/public/Hardware/CMM/3rdPartyDrivers/Romer/Romer235.zip

You can try a later version of WinRDS as it is supposed to be backward compatible.

  1. For later versions of PC-DMIS (including Beta), install WinRDS version 4.1 or later. If your WinRDS is older than version 4.1, please contact Romer for the latest version.

  1. Unzip the file or files and run the setup.

  2. Set the environment parameters so that PC-DMIS can access Romer’s DLLs:

  1. Open the Control Panel.

  2. Select System, and then click the Advanced system settings option to open the System Properties dialog box.

  3. From the Advanced tab, click the Environment Variables button to open the Environment Variables dialog box.

  4. Edit the WinRDS Path variable in the System Variables area. To do this, add a semicolon followed by the WinRDS installation directory. For example, enter ";C:\Program Files\cimcore\winrds" (without the quotation marks) to the end of the path string.

If you install Romer on a new PC, you can ignore this paragraph.

In the past, Romer’s DLLs are copied to PC-DMIS installation directories. This might leave many copies of the DLLs on the machine, and some of them might have been from older versions. You should delete those DLLs (except those in the Romer installation directory).

In particular, these are the files to be deleted from PC-DMIS directories: Lgps.dll, R6sc.dll, Rdensc.dll, Rxxc.dll, Stinger.dll, Winrds.dll, Xdat.dll, as well as files with a .bix extension.

It is very important that you ONLY DELETE the files mentioned above, and ONLY if they are found in the PC-DMIS installation directory or directories.
