The Rename command allows you to rename all of the files that are associated with a measurement routine.
You can only rename measurement routine (.prg), probe (.prb), and report (.rpt) files made in valid versions of PC-DMIS. For this version of PC-DMIS, if you attempt to rename any of these file types created before PC-DMIS version 2015.1, PC-DMIS shows an error message.
Example error message when you try to rename an invalid measurement routine file:
<measurement routine file>: Could not Rename File.
Unable to rename this Measurement Routine because it was created with a PC-DMIS version before 2015.1.
Where <measurement routine file> is the name and location of the file you are trying to open.
To rename a measurement routine:
Select the File | Operations | Rename menu item to open the Rename part files from dialog box.
Select the measurement routine to rename.
Click the Rename button to open the Rename part files to dialog box.
Type in the new name for the file in the File name box.
Click the Save button. The name change is applied immediately.
These files are renamed:
.prg
.cad
Any file with the same base name and an extension in the range .001, .002, …, .999
<name of measurement routine>.MiniRoutines.xml, if it exists
<name of measurement routine>.QdasData.xml, if it exists
