Background on ACR1

The ACR1 was the first probe changer introduced by Renishaw. It held up to eight of the quick-connect extensions, each with a separate TP2 probe body. Once the probes were qualified and placed into the rack, they could be automatically dropped off and picked up by the CMM with simple move commands and coordinated with the locking/unlocking mechanisms of the rack. A software module was eventually developed which controlled the rack operations.
