ProbeNumberOfData

This is the general version of this setting. The value for this setting is a parameter which some machine types use.

In the past, you had to either edit this setting to correspond to values for your particular probe type or you had to insert an OptionProbe command in the measurement routine to control the value. If you had more than one kind of analog probe in your measurement routine, you had to use the OptionProbe command because there was only this one setting.

There is now a specific entry for several different probe types.

The order of precedence is:

  1. If you use an OptionProbe command in the measurement routine, PC-DMIS uses it as the controlling factor instead of the corresponding setting.

  2. If you do not use an OptionProbe command in your measurement routine, and if the probe is one of the recognized types, PC-DMIS uses the probe-specific version of this setting instead of the general version.

  3. If you do not use an OptionProbe command in your measurement routine, and if the probe is not one of the recognized types, PC-DMIS uses the general version of this setting.

This setting allows you to enter the number of readings PC-DMIS takes when the machine is moving away from the object being measured. The value for this setting defines the minimum number of data PC-DMIS collects within the probing window defined by the ProbeUpperForce and ProbeLowerForce values.

Entry Name: ProbeNumberOfData

Entry Type: Character String that specifies the number of readings. The default value is 10.
