ProbeUsePartialCalibration

Some probe types initially require a fairly involved and time-consuming calibration procedure to calculate various calibration-related coefficients in addition to the usual tip size and offset. This is typical of certain analog scanning contact probes. In subsequent calibrations, it may not always be necessary to do a complete recalibration. Often it may be sufficient to only recalculate part of the calibration information.

It may only be necessary to calculate a new tip size and offset while leaving the rest of the coefficients as they are. In this case, you can use a much simpler and less time-consuming calibration procedure.

This entry stores the last-used value for the check box in the Probe Utilities dialog box. When this entry is set to 1 (TRUE), PC-DMIS uses the simpler, partial-calibration procedure. Otherwise, the software performs the complete recalibration.

To open the Probe Utilities dialog box, click Insert | Hardware Definition | Probe from the menu.
