Selecting Edit | Markings | Parent Mode marks the parent command (if this menu option has a check mark and the related command is marked in the Edit window).
A "parent" is a command (or information from a command) used in another command. For example, if you mark a dimension and select this option, PC-DMIS marks the feature used in the dimension as well.
If you unmark a marked child command, the parent command stays marked.
