Renaming Feature IDs

(For information on how to access Summary mode, see "Working in Summary Mode".)

(For information on Feature ID rules, see "Setup Options: ID Setup tab".)

The Rename Feature IDs option is only available when you select multiple features in Summary mode.

In Summary mode, you can use PC-DMIS's standard menu options or a special shortcut menu to rename feature IDs in measurement routines. This option lets you rename multiple feature IDs at the same time with a Prefix, Suffix, and Index number.

  1. To access the shortcut menu, select multiple feature IDs and then right-click them.

For more information on the available items, see "Summary Mode Command Shortcut Menu" in the "Using Shortcut Keys and Shortcut Menus" chapter of the PC-DMIS Core documentation.

  1. From the shortcut menu, select Rename Feature IDs to open the Rename Feature IDs dialog box. For information about the dialog box, see "Rename Feature IDs dialog box".

  2. From the Rename Feature IDs dialog box, define a new unique ID.

  3. Click OK.

PC-DMIS replaces the names of all the selected IDs with the new names in the Edit window.
