The "Input Feature List" table indicates the type of ellipse that you can construct based on the selected features when you choose the Auto option from the Method list. The order of the selected features is not important. If you select an incorrect input feature or features, PC-DMIS shows an error message and will not construct the indicated feature type.
To allow PC-DMIS to automatically determine the best method of construction:
Open the Construct Ellipse dialog box (Insert | Feature | Constructed | Ellipse).
From the Method list, select the Auto option.
From the Feature list, select the desired feature or features based on the "Input Feature List" table below.
If you want to change the feature theoretical values, select the Feature theoreticals check box and type in the values. For details, see the "Specifying Feature Theoreticals" topic in the PC-DMIS Core documentation.
Click the Create button.
