The Add and Delete buttons in the scan dialog box (Insert | Scan) enable you to add boundary points to the list of boundary points, or delete them. There are some restrictions about each type of scan. For example, a LINEARCLOSE scan will take only a Start and Direction point. It will not allow you to add more points or delete these two points. Please refer to each scan for specific restrictions.
