Placing Hits on a Feature

In many instances you need to precisely position hits on a feature other than a plane. To do this:

1. Move the cursor close to the position where you wish to take the hits.

2. Hold down the left mouse button.

3. Move the probe towards the position where you want to take the hit. (the probe must be moved at least 1/8" on the screen).

4. Release the button.

PC-DMIS "snaps" the hit onto the feature. PC-DMIS locates the hit on the side of the feature where you positioned the cursor when you first held down the mouse button.
