The Direct CAD Translator for NX and Parasolid imports native NX or Parasolid files into PC-DMIS and allows you to specify parameters for how the CAD file is translated. A new PC-DMIS measurement routine should be created before importing the NX or Parasolid file.
To import an NX or Parasolid file:
Choose the menu item:
For NX, select File | Import | NX to open the Import dialog box.
For Parasolid, select File | Import | Parasolid to open the Import dialog box.
From the Import dialog box, navigate to the folder that contains the file to import. Then select the NX Files (.prt) or Parasolid Files (.x_t, .x_b, .xmt_txt, or .xmt_bin).
Click the Import button. A dialog box opens to show the translation progress.

After PC-DMIS completes the translation process, you are ready to use the imported model.
