The machine immediately shakes when it tries to move.

The YY settings may be bad.

Motion starts, but then a motion error occurs.

The acceleration or velocity settings may be bad.

Try to disable axis optimization (AO).

A "CMM not responding" error occurs.

Open Windows Task Manager to see if a second PC-DMIS application (pcdlrn.exe) is running.

 

There are long delays before measurements.

SERL may be set as too precise.

Increase the number.

There are only readouts, and hits do not register.

Set the SETPT entry to True. This entry is in the USER_LK section of PC-DMIS Settings Editor.

The machine does not home.

This be due to a PDAMP command in your DOWNL.OAD file.

Use a "!" to comment out the command.

Most LKs in version 2.21 do not successfully initialize.

Version 2.21 has a known problem. For more information, see "Updates".

Upgrade the software.

For the LK-2000 to display updated scales with joystick motion, PC-DMIS must be in Readouts mode. To select this mode, click the Readouts Mode icon on the Probe Mode toolbar in PC-DMIS. The icon is also located in the Probe Toolbox in the Auto Feature dialog box.

To take a manual hit, select the Hits Mode icon on the Probe Mode toolbar to return to Hits mode.
