Exporting to a STEP File

You can export your CAD model as a STEP file with the application Protocol 214. This type of format stores your CAD model as a .stp file. You can then import the file back into PC-DMIS or use it with other CAD systems.

To export your CAD model to a STEP file, you must use the STEP AP214 option:

1. Select File | Export | Part Model | STEP | STEP AP214 and then choose the directory where you want to export the file.

2. Type a file name.

3. Click Export.

4. PC-DMIS creates the .stp file at the specified location.
