Multiple uEye Digital Cameras

You can use multiple uEye digital cameras. To do this, you must set the camera IDs in the IDS Camera Manager. The camera IDs must be sequential and start with 1. The configuration file name must denote the number of cameras installed.

The uEye Camera ID and the PC-DMIS Vision probe ID are offset by 1. For example, if the camera has an ID of 1, the PC-DMIS Vision probe sees it as a camera with the ID of 0.

You must configure the cameras for the same color depth. For example, 8-bit monochrome versus 32-bit color.

When you configure a single physical camera as multiple virtual cameras, the camera ID you use in PC-DMIS controls whether to use an IDS API-based fast switching mode instead of a full parameter file loading. To use the fast switching mode, add 1000 to the PC-DMIS camera ID. For example, instead of setting the camera IDs to 0 and 1 to specify using the IDS configuration files 1 and 2, you would set them to 1000 and 1001.
