Installation

The installers for the frame grabbers and cameras are at ftp://ftp.wilcoxassoc.com/Hardware/Vision/FrameGrabber/.

The IDS FALCON installers are used with the Falcon and Eagle IDS frame grabbers.

Camera None events have been seen on some systems running Matrox CronosPlus frame grabbers on Windows 7 systems. The corrective action is to replace the CronosPlus with an IDS Falcon.

Matrox CronosPlus works only on 32-bit Windows. IDS Falcon and Eagle frame grabbers, and IDS uEye cameras work on 64-bit Windows.

Use the newest or highest revision number of frame grabber or camera software installer that the PC-DMIS version supports. To identify the version that PC-DMIS supports, look at the wai_framegrabber DLL files in the PC-DMIS installation directory. For example, the presence of WAI_FrameGrabber_IDS_UEYE_4_80.dll indicates this version of PC-DMIS supports the IDS uEye version 4.80 software.

When running PC-DMIS version 2018 R1 or later with an IDS Falcon and Eagle frame grabber board in a Windows 10 operating system, you must install the FALCON_46102_64 software and drivers. You can find the FALCON_46102_64 software and drivers installer on the IDS website at: ftp://ftp.wilcoxassoc.com/Hardware/Vision/FrameGrabber/IDS/.

If you use an older version of the v4.61 software and drivers when starting PCDMIS, you may receive an error stating that the operating system is not supported.
