Similar to a Cast Circle, you can construct a Cast Round Slot by changing any given feature into a slot. PC-DMIS uses the Cast option from the Construct Round Slot dialog box to construct the slot at the centroid of the input feature.
Guidelines when you construct a cast slot:
The software uses the diameter or width of the input feature as the width of the slot.
The software uses the length of the input feature as the length of the slot.
If the width or diameter of the input feature is 0 (zero), the width of the slot is the probe's diameter.
If the length of the input feature is 0 (zero), the length of the slot is set to three time the probe's diameter.
The software uses the vector of a line feature as the slot's angle vector; the software uses the vector of any other feature types as the slot's surface vector.
To construct a cast round slot:
Open the Construct Round Slot dialog box (Insert | Feature | Constructed | Round Slot).
From the Method list, select the Cast option.
From the Feature list, select one feature of any type.
Select the In or Out option. For details, see the "In / Out Slot" topic in this documentation.
If you want to change the feature theoretical values, select the Feature theoreticals check box and type in the values. For details, see the "Specifying Feature Theoreticals" topic in this documentation.
Click the Create button.
The Edit window command line for the Cast Round Slot would read:
