Rotary Table with Roughness Scan

The Roughness scan supports rotary tables with the horizontal 90TR sensor.

To use rotary table in a Roughness scan command, you must define Roughness scan in the system. PC-DMIS supports a single rotary table with its axis of rotation parallel to the Z-axis of the CMM. You must define the IGNOREROTAB/OFF command in your measurement routine.

When you create a Roughness scan command, PC-DMIS checks for the availability of a rotary table. If a rotary table is active, PC-DMIS generates the MOVE/ROTAB,90,SHORTEST command. The calculations of the angles required for the Roughness scan measurements are based on the combination of the rotary table angle and the A and B wrist angles.

Rotary table angle adjustment during execution

During execution, the Roughness scan command recalculates the rotary table angle required for the measurement of the scan. If necessary, the Roughness scan command rotates the rotary table to a new angle. The new angle might be different from the programmed angle based on how the part is placed in the machine coordinate system.
