File Operations toolbar for Protect-User
You can use the File Operations toolbar (View | Toolbars | File Operations) to perform these operations:
New
File - Creates a new measurement routine
Open
File - Opens an existing measurement routine
Close
File - Closes the active measurement routine
Quit
- Quits PC-DMIS
Save
File - Saves the current measurement routine
Save
As - Saves the current measurement routine under a different name
View Certified - Opens the certified version of
the measurement routine in Protected mode
This button is available only for a certified measurement routine.
Submit
- Submits the current measurement routine for certification and generates
a .protect file
Cancel Submission - Cancels the submission of
the current measurement routine for certification
The Submit and Cancel Submission buttons are available if you belong to only the Protect-User group, and you have the Protect Viewer LMS license enabled.
Certify
- Certifies the current measurement routine
Reject
- Rejects the current measurement routine for certification
Delete
- Deletes all the changes you made after the last certification of the
measurement routine. You can then edit the measurement routine from the
beginning
The Certify, Reject, and Delete buttons are available if you belong to only the Protect-Programmer group, and you have the Protect Viewer LMS license enabled.
Recertify
- Recertifies the current measurement routine

Edit Certified Routine - This button opens the
certified measurement routine:
If you are the creator of the measurement routine, this opens the certified measurement routine in Edit mode.
If you are a member of the Protect-Programmer group, and a measurement routine came for recertification, this button opens the certified measurement routine in Protected mode.
If there are no measurement routines for recertification, PC-DMIS displays the message that you are not the creator of the measurement routine and neither has it has been submitted to you for certification.
