Creating the Q-DAS Data File

To create a Q-DAS data file for a measurement routine, follow these steps:

  1. Open the measurement routine.

  2. To open the Q-DAS Configurator application, select the Operation | Q-DAS | Open Configurator menu option.

  3. From the Q-DAS Configurator toolbar, from the K-Field Configuration list, select the K-field configuration file.

For details on how to create a K-field configuration file, see "Setting Up K-Field Configuration".

  1. From the toolbar, ensure that the Current Catalog box displays the correct catalog file.

  2. From the Q-DAS Configurator, select File | Create Q-DAS Data File.

The Q-DAS Configurator reads the PC-DMIS measurement routine. The Q-DAS Configurator uses the definitions in the K-field configuration file to complete the Parts data area. The processing time depends on the number of dimensions in the measurement routine. A status bar displays the progress.

  1. To save the Q-DAS data file, select File | Save As to open the Save As dialog box. In the File name box, type a name. For more information about the file name, see "Using Q-DAS Configurator".
