Auto Plane Construction

The "Input Feature List" table shows the type of plane you can construct when you select the specified inputs and select the Auto option. The order of the selected features is not important. If you select an incorrect input feature, PC-DMIS displays an error message and does not automatically construct the indicated feature type.

To allow PC-DMIS to automatically determine the best method of construction:

  1. Open the Construct Plane dialog box (Insert | Feature | Constructed | Plane).

  2. From the Method list, select the Auto option from the list of options.

  3. From the Feature list, select the desired feature or features based on the "Input Feature List" table below.

  4. From the Display area, select how you want PC-DMIS to display the constructed plane. For details, see the "Using the Display Area" topic in this documentation.

  5. If you want to change the feature theoretical values, select the Feature theoreticals check box and type in the values. For details, see the "Specifying Feature Theoreticals" topic in the PC-DMIS Core documentation.

  6. Click the Create button.
