This parameter is the length of an airfoil section. It is roughly the distance from the nose point to the tail point of a section.
There are many ways to calculate the chord length.
The chord length is sometimes referred to as the chord width.

An example of the BELAC method for chord calculation is as follows:
Rotate a set angle from the Y axis. This example uses 60.7188 degrees.
Perform the caliper chord calculation along that angle.

In the Flavor File dialog box, select the following on the Calculations tab:
Select CHORD in the To Perform list.
Enter the BELAC method in the Method(s) box.
In the Tolerance File dialog box, select GAGE_OFFSETS on the Default tab.
