Tolerancing Method

The contour tolerance curves are created by fitting curves to the set of "tolerance points". Each tolerance point is generated as the orthogonal offset from the nominal point by its tolerance value. A lower tolerance curve is generated from the lower tolerance points. An upper tolerance curve is generated from the upper tolerance points. Measured points are judged to be in tolerance if they lie between the two tolerance curves.

The measured curve uses green and red coloring to indicate where the measured curve is in and out of tolerance.
