Using a Barcode to Access a Routine or Playlist

With Inspect, you can access a measurement routine on your computer through a barcode scan of a part. If you don't have a barcode scanner, you can also manually paste or type the code to access the routine that is associated with that code.

  1. From the Home screen, click Scan Part to show the Scan Part dialog box.

  2. If you have a barcode reader, use your barcode reader to scan the part's barcode. As soon as the software detects the barcode, the Scan Part dialog box shows the details about the measurement routine or the playlist.

  3. If you don't have a barcode reader, click in the Scan or Paste ID box, and paste or type the code into that box. Then click Look Up to show the details about the measurement routine or the playlist.

  4. If you have multiple routines or playlists that share the same barcode, Inspect shows a list of those items inside the Scan Part dialog box. Choose the routine or playlist you want and click this button (Continue button) to continue.

  5. From the Scan Part dialog box, click the execute button () button to execute the measurement routine.

You can use the Barcode section on the Settings screen to have Inspect automatically execute the routine once it opens.
