Enabling and Editing Smart Parameters

(This topic applies to the Measurement Strategy Editor also known as the MSE for short.)

To enable smart parameters:

  1. Locate the setting in the MSE. If the setting supports smart parameters, a grid button appears next to it. If smart parameters is disabled, it has a gray crossed out grid button next to it.

  2. Click the gray, crossed-out grid button (Smart Parameters - Disabled) to the right of the parameter. The button turns to a green grid button (Smart Parameters - Enabled) to indicate it's enabled.

To edit smart parameters:

  1. Click the Edit Smart Parameter button (Edit Smart Parameter) to the right of the setting. A smart parameters dialog box opens with a table of values.

  2. Use Add Row (Add Row) and Remove Row (Remove Row) buttons to define the number of rows in the grid. You can have up to seven rows.

  3. Define the values in the grid.

  4. Click Apply (Apply button) to accept your changes. You can also click the Cancel button (Cancel button) to not save your changes.

  5. When you enable smart parameters, during feature creation, PC-DMIS chooses the number of hits based on the diameter.

  6. When you create the feature, if the diameter size is less than or equal to the set maximum diameter value, PC-DMIS uses those numbers of hits.
