Setting Up Predefined Values

When you create a configuration file, you can define a value for each K-field for which you selected the Predefined check box in the Setup K-Field Configuration dialog box (Setup | K-Field Configuration).

To set up predefined values, follow these steps:

  1. To open the Setup Predefined Values dialog box, select Setup | Predefined Values in the Q-DAS Configurator application. The Setup Predefined Values dialog box displays the fields for which the Predefined check box in the Setup K-Field Configuration dialog box is selected.

Setup Predefined Values dialog box

  1. In the Fields with defined field contents area, select the field. A table with two columns (Value and Description) appears in the Value / Description area.

  2. Type a value (usually a number) in the Value column.

  3. Type descriptive text in the Description column.

Only the value of the K-field exports to the actual Q-DAS ASCII Transfer Format file. The description helps you or the operator know what to select.

  1. Continue to complete the table with values and descriptions as needed. Repeat steps 2 through 5 until all of the applicable K-fields have predefined values.

  2. To save your changes, click OK.
