Client License Manager (CLM) Software

The Hexagon Client License Manager (CLM) software is a reliable and secure licensing technology that does not require a Software Protection Key (HASP portlock dongle). An Internet connection to the Hexagon Network License Server is all you need to install PC-DMIS and activate a license.

Automatic HASP to LMS Changeover

If you want to keep the current version of PC-DMIS and change your current license from HASP to LMS, follow these steps:

  1. Contact your Hexagon Service Representative to acquire an LMS license Entitlement ID (EID) key. Your representative will also send you the latest versions of the CLM license software tools. Use these tools to perform the various functions that this document describes.

  2. After you install your EID key and the CLM software tools, locate the CLM Client License Administrator utility file (clmadmin.exe). Double-click it to run it. For details about how to use the EID to install your LMS license, see the appropriate section of the CLM help:

  3. Remove your HASP dongle from the computer and return it.

  4. Start up the same version of PC-DMIS that you used with HASP.

PC-DMIS detects that the HASP dongle is missing.

PC-DMIS then checks for a valid LMS license.

If both a valid HASP license and a valid LMS license are detected, upon startup, PC-DMIS uses HASP. If the HASP portlock is removed, the next time PC-DMIS starts up, it uses the valid LMS license.

This fix does not cover the case when LMS is your license system, and a valid HASP dongle is in your computer. In this case, LMS remains as the license system in use, and PC-DMIS ignores the dongle.
