Portable Hard Probe Scanning

PC-DMIS Portable allows you to scan features using one of six manual scanning methods. Measured points are collected as fast as they are read by the controller during the scanning process. Once the scan is complete, PC-DMIS allows you to reduce the collected data based on the scanning method selected. For these scan types to be available, you must have PC-DMIS configured to use a hard probe.

To begin creating manual scans, from the Probe Modes toolbar, place PC-DMIS into Manual Mode () and then select one of the available manual scan types from the Scan (Insert | Scan) submenu. These include:

The appropriate manual scan dialog box opens.

For information on the options available in the Scan dialog box, see the "Common Functions of the Scan Dialog Box" in the "Scanning Your Part" chapter in the PC-DMIS Core documentation.

When you create Auto features, you can use the manual scan to take sample hits. For information, see "Scanning for Auto feature Sample Hits".
