Executing a Routine with One Part on the CMM

This topic pertains to the EYE-D Add-on Execution Process.

To execute a measurement routine with the EYE-D add-on with one part on the CMM, do the following:

  1. Ensure that you have completed these required steps:

  1. Place the part on the CMM's granite surface within the measuring area.

  2. Ensure that the orientation of the part is close to the orientation you used when you created the routine.

  3. Ensure that the tips have enough room around the part to move and complete the measurement.

The part may be rotated from the orientation where it was learned by up to 5 degrees.

  1. Open the Inspect Home screen.

  2. Ensure that the path to the camera-zero position is clear and free of collisions.

  3. Select the Detect Part button. The CMM moves to the camera's zero position.

The EYE-D add-on takes an image and then moves in the Y direction to reduce the offset between the camera and the part. The camera takes another image at this position. The image is processed to match a part in the database.

The add- on also creates a new external alignment file (.aln) to locate the part at its current position. It then starts to execute the associated measurement routine.
