PC-DMIS Execution Process

You can use PC-DMIS to execute one or more routines. Even though it may not be visible, PC-DMIS starts the execution of the measurement routine or routines you selected. Inspect shows the Measurement View in the Measure screen so that you can control the execution.

If you like, you can also configure inspect to show PC-DMIS during execution with the Show application when a routine executes check box. This check box is under the Measure View settings of the Settings screen. For information, see "The Settings Screen".

  1. For options on how to start the execution, see "Executing Routines to Measure Parts".

  2. Follow any on-screen instructions.

  3. During manual execution, you are prompted to take hits with your machine. Follow the prompts, and take hits with the probe. If you take a bad hit, you can click the erase hit () button to delete it from the hit buffer (list of temporary hits).

  4. During automatic or DCC execution, you can also pause (), completely stop (), or continue () the execution.

WARNING: When you do this, the machine moves. To avoid injury, stay clear of the machine. To avoid hardware damage, run the machine at a slower speed.

  1. During the execution, Inspect does the following:

You may experience some slowness after the measurement routine finishes execution. This is because, Inspect automatically closes the measurement routine after execution. This is necessary in some older versions of PC-DMIS to protect the routine from unintended modification.
