The Add-ons Screen

Add-ons are components that can customize and extend Inspect to fit your needs.

There are various available add-on types.

With the Add-ons screen, you can view and manage the available add-ons. You need to run Inspect as an administrator to see this screen. To access the Add-ons screen, from the left sidebar, click Add-ons ().

The Add-ons screen contains these items:

- This box filters add-ons to show only those add-ons with names or descriptions that contain the sequence of characters you type in the box.

Available - This button filters the list of add-ons to show all available add-ons.

Installed - This button filters the list of add-ons to show only the installed add-ons. If you've just installed and ran Inspect, this shows the default add-ons that Inspect installs.

Updates - This button filters the list of add-ons to show only those add-ons that have updates. A red number on this icon shows the number of add-ons that have updates.

List of Add-ons - The center of the screen shows a list of add-ons. You can filter the add-on list with the different filter buttons at the top of the screen.

Each add-on has one of these icons to its left to indicate the type of add-on:

- This add-on type adds a new view or mode.

- This add-on type connects to another system.

An add-on with a key icon (Key icon) indicates you must purchase a license to use that add-on.

These are the available add-ons

Application Simulator - This add-on simulates the execution of a measurement routine if you don't have a measurement package to measure the routine. For more information, see "Using the Simulator".

Barcode - This add-on lets you associate a barcode with a measurement routine. It provides you with a fast and reliable way to select routines with a Windows Barcode reader. When you install this add-on, a new Scan Part button appears on the Home screen.

Dimension Sets - This add-on lets you execute sets of features or dimensions in the measurement routine. These sets are groups of features or dimensions defined in the client measurement application. In PC-DMIS, for example, these are marked sets and mini routines. When you enable this add-on, if your measurement routine contains defined marked sets or mini routines, the software lists them under Dimension Sets in the Details pane.

Discover - This add-on enables the Discover tab in Inspect so that you can see Inspect-related product views.

EQUATOR - This add-on lets you use Inspect with a Renishaw Equator™ gauging system, such as the Equator 300, Equator 500, and so on. You should install this add only if your system is connected to a Renishaw Equator device. For more information, see "Working with Renishaw Equator Systems".

EYE-D - This add-on enables you to place a part on the CMM table and execute a measurement routine without the need to manually align the part for each execution. The add-on works with your uEye camera to automatically recognize the part and its associated measurement routine. You can use this add-on to execute these types of routines:

Favorites - This add-on adds a Favorites list to the Home screen and the Favorites screen. Items that you frequently use or that you mark as a favorite, appear in this screen.

Folder Explorer - This add-on adds a This PC folder icon into the Parts screen. With this add-on, you can use measurement routines and custom folders that you have stored locally on this computer. You can also use Windows shortcuts in Inspect. For information, see "Shortcuts".

Measure - This add-on adds a Measure screen that lets you use Inspect to measure routines with PC-DMIS.

PC-DMIS Application - This add-on extends Inspect so that it can run versions of PC-DMIS to measure PC-DMIS measurement routines. When you install the PC-DMIS add on, on the Settings screen, a PC-DMIS area appears with a list of the versions of PC-DMIS you have installed on your computer. From the list of PC-DMIS versions, turn on the switch for the version or versions you want to use with Inspect. This turns on specific version add-ons of PC-DMIS. While we recommend that you use the latest version of PC-DMIS, Inspect supports several older versions of PC-DMIS.

Playlist - This add-on lets you create playlists so that you can save executed lists of measurement routines. This add-on also adds a Playlist screen.

Similar to a playlist for music files, a playlist in Inspect is a collection of measurement routines that "play" (or execute) one after another.

QUINDOS - A QUINDOS add-on extends Inspect so that it can run QUINDOS to measure QUINDOS routines.

Recent - This add-on adds a Recent list into the Home screen and a Recent screen. Those items show the most recent measurement routines you executed.

Scheduler - This add-on lets you run certain hardware-related tasks, such as probe calibration, Swift-Check validations, and so on, according to a schedule. Once you install the add-on, a Scheduler section appears in the Settings screen for you to choose what tasks to put under a schedule.

Slideshow - This add-on adds a Show the Slideshow button (Toggle the Slideshow View) on the Measure screen. If you click that button during or immediately after execution, a Slideshow tab opens on the Measure screen. Once you define what to display in a Slideshow template, the Slideshow tab can then display multiple slides of labels for executed dimensions in a measurement routine. Inspect updates the slides with measurement data as PC-DMIS executes features and their corresponding dimensions. For more information, access the Slideshow tab and press F1.

Swift-Check - This add-on installs all the measurement routines, probe files, and documentation necessary to run checks to validate the accuracy of your CMM. Once you install this add-on, a Swift-Check button appears on the Home screen and on the left sidebar. When you click on these items, a new Swift-Check screen opens so that you can choose what checks to run. A Swift-Check section of settings also appears on the Settings screen. For more information, see "Swift-Check" and "Using Swift-Check to Validate the CMM".

For Swift-Check to work, you need the Swift-Check artifact on a bridge-style CMM. Inspect also needs either PC-DMIS or QUINDOS. You then need to install the Swift-Check add-on. For more information on Swift-Check, see the instructions in the user guide that came with your Swift-Check artifact.
