How To Measure a Boss

| Position the probe at the side of the boss, at the desired measurement height, then press the Read Position button. |

| If you need to correct the position, press the Remove Last Position button to cancel the previously read location, then repeat the previous step. | |||

| Position the probe over the center of the boss, then press the Read Position button. It is important that the point is close to the center of the boss, otherwise, a collision may occur. |

| Click the Execute button. Start the monitor macro on the machine. NC Gage takes four points around the boss to determine its center and to locate the boss. Next, NC Gage measures the boss using this center, and calculates its measured center. | |||
5 | Review the measured values on screen and if necessary, adjust the nominal values.

| Press OK to add the command to the measurement program. | |||
