How To Set an Offset Using a Sphere
Instructions | |||
|---|---|---|---|
1 | Select the work offset to set.
| ||
2 |
| Position the probe directly over the center of the sphere and press the Read Position button. | |
3 |
| If you need to correct the position, press the Remove Last Position button to cancel the previously read location, then repeat the previous step. | |
4 |
| Move the probe to the automatic measurement location and press the Execute button. Start the monitor macro on the machine. NC Gage measures three points around the top of the sphere to locate the sphere. NC Gage then measures the sphere with the number of points you set. The default number of points that NC Gage uses to measure are five points starting at the equator and ending at the top of the sphere. | |
5 | Review the measured values on the screen and set the desired target values for the offset.
| ||
6 |
| Press OK to set the selected work offset. | |
Important
Note that the start and end angle must be at least 20 degrees apart.
Additional Notes
Ensure the NC does not show the Work Offset screen.
On some controls, NC Gage cannot write offsets if the screen is open.
