2023.1 HxGN NC Server with NC Gage

Setup Screen Settings

The following settings are available on the Settings screen:

Name

Description

Details

Unit

This setting displays inch and mm for information only. This is configured in the Config Tool settings option.

Language

You can use this setting to select the display language.

Feed Rates

You can use this setting to display or set the following speeds:

  • Traverse - This setting defines the speed that the probe travels between measurement points.

  • Finding - This is the speed that the CNC teach-in operation uses and is for display purposes only.

  • Rotation - This is the speed of the rotary axis.

Probing Distance

Sets distances for probing and searching:

  • Prehit - This setting defines the distance before the nominal probing point location to slow the speed of the probe prior to measuring a point.

  • Finding - This setting defines the maximum search distance when NC Gage attempts to measure a point during CNC teach-in operation.

Tolerance

This setting defines the default +/- tolerances for the report.

Snap Decimal Accuracy

This setting sets the number of decimal places on the report and the rounding of nominal values during the teach-in operation.

  • Dimension Snap Value - This option defines how nominal dimensions are created during the teach-in operation.

  • Angle Snap Value - This option defines how nominal angles are created during the teach-in operation.

  • Decimal Places - This option specifies the number of decimal places NC Gage display on the screen.

Tip

Snap Values specify how many digits to round a value to, and the nearest multiple of a value.

For example, suppose Snap Value = 0.03

This specifies to round to two decimal places and to use 3 as the rounding multiplier.

Therefore, if the measured value is 0.068, NC Gage would first round to two decimal places for an initial value of 0.07. NC Gage then converts this value to 0.06 because 6 is the closest value that is a multiple of 3.

Report Save Option

This setting specifies the number of measuring reports to save.

Saved Path

This setting specifies the directory to save measurement reports in.

Auto Save

When you select this option, NC Gage automatically saves the reports when you execute a gaging program.

Overwrite /Timestamp

This setting determines if NC Gage overwrites saved reports, or if it saves reports with a timestamp when you execute a gaging program.

Note

You must select the Auto Save option for reports to be saved with a date and timestamp.

Statistic Save Option

This setting specifies how NC Gage saves statistics data.

Saved Path

This setting specifies the directory that NC Gage saves measurement reports.

Auto Save

When you select this option, NC Gage automatically saves statistic data when a gaging program is executed.

Overwrite/ Timestamp

This setting determines if NC Gage overwrites saved reports, or if it saves reports with a timestamp when you execute a gaging program.

Note

You must select the Auto Save option for reports to be saved with a date and timestamp.

XML / CSV

This option sets the output format to XML or CSV.

Additional Notes

Timestamp Filename Format

XML option selected:

D-<yyyy><MM><dd><hh><mm><ss>.xml

CSV option selected:

D-<yyyy><MM><dd><hh><mm><ss>.csv

where:

<yyyy> - Four-digit year, based on your computer system's date

<MM> - Two-digit month, based on your computer system's date

<dd> - Two-digit day, based on your computer system's date

<hh> - Two digits of the hour (24-hour time) that the statistics are saved, based on your computer system's time

<mm> - Two digits of the minute that the statistics are saved, based on your computer system's time

<ss> - Two digits of the second that the statistics are saved, based on your computer system's time

Note that the 24-hour time stamp notation for the file name indicates the time at which the statistics were saved (not the time at which the measurement routine executed). Therefore, if you continuously save the same set of statistics, each set will have a different file name.
